What is a cookie?
Cookies are small files stored on your drive which store certain settings and data for the purpose of communicating with our system via your browser. This helps us tailor our website and our offers to your requirements and makes using our website more convenient for you, for example by storing certain information so that you don't have to enter it repeatedly.

4. Log files

Each time the web pages of Universität Vechta are accessed, usage data are communicated by the respective web browsers and stored in the so-called server log files. These data sets contain the following data: access date and time, name of the accessed website, IP address, referrer URL (the URL from which you accessed the EGERA website), the amount of data transferred and information regarding the type and version of the browser used.

The user IP addresses are erased or rendered anonymous at the end of the session. "To render an IP address anonymous" means modifying it in such a way that details of personal or material circumstances can no longer or only with disproportionate investment of time, cost and labour be attributed to an identified or identifiable natural person.

We evaluate the anonymized log file data sets in order to further improve our website and make it more user-friendly, to find errors more quickly and allocate server capacity. In this way, we can, for example, find out at what times our website is most heavily frequented and make the necessary data volume available. In addition, analysis of the log files facilitates the quick identification and elimination of errors on the website.

I hereby agree that Universität Vechta evaluates and analyses the data contained in the so-called log files in order to optimize the service and its application.
